I remember the first time we brought Daniel home from the hospital. He was 4-days-old and would sleep all the time. Everybody was eager to see him and take pictures with him. In our case, we were overjoyed and couldn’t wait to cradle him in our arms. As a new mom, I was extremely excited to be with Daniel and was determined to do my best in taking care of his needs. Daniel’s first days at home was one of the most memorable ones.

Daniel was born with naturally beautiful hair. In short, he was not bald. At St Lukes where I gave birth, we was an instant heartthrob. I remember the enthusiasm in my OB’s face when she announced, “Your son is very handsome!” and followed it up with, “How did you, two, do that?”
Uh, because he’s our son? I almost rolled my eyes.

At the nursery, people gave extra attention to how hairy he was. Their incessant remark about his hair made me realize that my son’s hair was (still is) a great asset.

Daniel loves it when Mommy and Daddy plays “clap clap hands” with him. For some reasons, he finds it funny when I hold and clap his hands for him. He’s such a joy and hearing him laugh is priceless. These days, he no longer wants me to clap his hands for him. Instead, he grabs both of my hands, claps them for me, and giggles in excitement.
Eight Wonderful Months with Daniel

Daniel is 8-month-old today.
This means that I’ve been a mom for 8 months already, and watching my son grow into a fine, beautiful boy is pure joy. On his eight month, Daniel has turned into a busy and curious tot. Lately, he’s trying to learn new things—from endlessly attempting to crawl, pulling up when I hold his hands, playing with his teether and his stuffed toys, to watching his favorite kiddie shows on DVDs. I noticed that he’s more sociable now and can already recognize his parents and key people around him like his Yaya Mona.
Those were the days when we could just leave him and let him sleep alone. We’re always on the qui vive when it comes to him and although he doesn’t ask for it, we monitor him almost 24-hours a day. At this age, he mindlessly reaches out for something and put it in his mouth– that’s what we’re kinda apprehensive about, not knowing what that “something” is. Read more
